Aloo Bonda


Ingredients
  • 2nos - Potatos(boiled n mashed)
  • 1tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 cup -Onion
  • 2nos - Green chillies
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 1/2Cup -Corriander leaves
  • 1/4tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2tsp -Ginger Garlic paste
  • Salt to Taste

For Batter


  • 1cup -Besan/Gram Flour
  • 1/2tsp - Red chilli Powder
  • 1/4tsp - Ajwain
  • 1/4tsp - Baking Powder (optional)
  • Salt to Taste

Procedure

Mix besan,red chilli powder,ajwain n salt along with water to make a thick batter n keep aside.

In a pan heat the oil,add cumin seeds,when it splutters add green chillies,curry leaves,corriander leaves n ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder n fry for few mins.

Add finely chopped onions n fry till it turns golden brown, add the mashed potatos n mix well n allow it to cool.

In a kadai heat the oil for deep fry.Make the potato mixture into balls n dip it in the batter.Let it coat all the sides.

Drop in a hot oil n fry till it turns golden brown on all the sides.

Place it in a paper towel to drain excess oil

Serve hot with tomato ketchup/coconut chutney.
