Murukku

Its a very famous snack in southern part of india.Normally in TamilNadu ppl will do sweets and murukku during diwali time.My Mom n my GrandMa used to do this.It invloves a lot of patience.Its been a long time i did murukku. Yesterday i feel like having,but lazy to prepare as its a time consuming process,at last in evening i set my mind to prepare the delicious snack,but still i did in my own shape/ style :-) Here goes the recipie.


Ingredient
  • 2Cups - Rice Flour
  • 1/2Cup - Urad dhal flour
  • 3/4Cup - Roasted channa (Pottukadalai) Grind thm into fine powder
  • 1/2Cup - Melted Butter
  • 6tsp - Seasame seeds
  • 1tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1tsp -Ajwain seeds
  • Red chilli Powder - As Required
  • Salt - To Taste
Procedure

Mix the above all ingredients along with little water.

Knead the mix to make a soft dough.

Using murukku maker pipe out the patterns (there will be a lots of patterns,u can choose as per ur wish) in a plate.

Heat oil in a medium flame,drop the murukku patterns from the plate to Oil.

Fry till it turns gloden brown.

Remove from oil and place it in a paper towel to drain the oil

Allow to cool n store it in a air tight container

Enjoy with evening Tea.
